Jon Jones stopped Alexander Gustafsson in the third round to win an undisputed UFC light heavyweight title for the third time in his career.
Despite a 15-month anti-doping suspension, Jones (23-1 MMA, 17-1 UFC) didn't miss a beat, out-striking Gustafsson (18-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) before forcing a ground-and-pound TKO in the third round.
After a tumultuous week that saw the event moved from Las Vegas to Los Angeles after an abnormal Jones drug test result, Jones got the stoppage at the 2:02 mark of the third round of the fighters' rematch.
"Without God, I am absolutely nothing," Jones said afterward. "All glory to God. With that being said, this is a great feeling."
Wearing the belt in the octagon for the first time since he knocked out Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 to retake the belt, Jones wasted little time in calling out his longtime rival, who was re-crowned champion when he failed a post-fight drug test for a steroid metabolite.

"Man, I know there's a guy who's been calling himself champ-champ," Jones said. "I mean, what guy just gives up his belt because somebody else made it home? Daddy's home, D.C. Prove to the fans you're a champ-champ. Come get a taste. I'm here. Get your belt back. It will be waiting right here."
